About the Event.
5 CHALLENGE ADVENTURE SUN 3MAY09
BACKGROUND TO THE EVENT
In April 2008 we had 15 teams of 3 people compete in a team building challenge event comprising 5 tasks (rope work, semaphore, fund raising, kayak and mini abseil). This was organised in partnership between Tim Rogers and John Fox at www.jerseyadventures.com and won by Jersey Harbours. The event also raised a substantial amount for Jersey Hospice.
There has been a lot of interest in doing the same thing again in 2009, and we have agreed a date of SUN 3MAY09 (avoiding clash with London Marathon and mountain bike races)
There will be a maximum of 16 teams of 3 people. There will be 5 new challenges, taking about 40mins each and just as in 2008 people will commute between each task by mountain bike. What will be different in 2009, is that based on my own experience at the Land Rover G4 Adventure Race, the challenges will be a bit tougher and the idea is that in parallel with organising a local team building event, I will be looking to identify the top 5+ individuals across all the teams in an effort to establish a Jersey Team to take part in a UK or French Adventure Race later in 2009. You should be prepared for any combination of the following activities.
* Navigation & orienteering
* Problem solving and teamwork
* Mountain biking
* Running
* Climbing, abseiling and rope-work
* Kayaking
* In-line staking
I will charge a little more £50/per person (ie £150 per team) and the modest "profit" will be put into a pot to fund participation of the chosen 5 in a UK or French Adventure Race in 2009.

Team Equipment- each team must provide & carry:
Food, drink, change of clothes, wet weather gear, mobile phone, basic first aid kit, watch, bike, helmet, gloves, and suitable shoes, pencil, pen, paper, compass, calculator, a map case or plastic cover for paper documents.
Terms and conditions.
Participants accept there is a certain amount of risk involved in this event will not hold the organisers, or their agents responsible for injury, loss or damage to person or equipment arising from involvement in this event. All participants must follow the rules, guidance or instructions of the organisers whose decision is final. All participants are responsible for their own health and safety eg follow the "rules of the road", and when on cycles participants must wear a helmet, or other safety equipment as directed.
